People are sometimes justifiably wary about purchasing wholesale designer purse lots whether it is online or from another sourse. Of course "caveat emptor" comes to mind. You don't want to be gullible. There are some great deals available for purchase, and some amazing opportunities for reselling but you should do a bit of homework before making a major investment in wholesale lots. Someone offering a buy it now price of $200 for ten "genuine" Dolce & Gabbana bags, is probably not too trustworthy.

Read the listings carefully to see if the purses are shelf pulls or overstocks. Any seller worth your time will automatically list details related to where the bags came from with any listing that offers quantity. If it isn't mentioned by the seller, be sure to ask if any bags have been damaged or if they are returns. If either of those two conditions apply, keep looking. You don't want somebody else's problems. Learn the marks of authenticity to look for and ask the seller if they are present on all of the items. Ask to see more photos too if you feel it would help you make a better decision.  Also, be sure to check out the seller's return policy.  Starting in October, eBay sellers will be required to include a return policy in their listings.

With that said, there truly are some nice deals available for a resourceful person to take advantage of and turn a profit on (or quickly build a collection). The first thing you should look at when you see a listing that interests you is the seller's feedback rating. For a pricey lot, I wouldn't deal with anyone with less than a 98% feedback rating and at least 40 or 50 sales myself. Anyone with a feedback score that high over time is probably in the selling business for the long haul and doesn't want to do anything dishonest to ruin his or her online reputation. In other words, look for high feedback and multiple sales when you are buying.  Also, take a minute to read the comments that former buyers have left.  If they sound "lukewarm" rather than very happy, you should take that into consideration.  If the buyers are all enthusiastically happy however, it's a pretty good indicator that you have found a quality seller.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Serious sellers realize that answering questions comes with the territory and they are usually quite helpful. If the seller is rude or doesn't want to cooperate, keep your money and move along to something else that interests you.
