Shopping with video has arrived! As more and more people choose to avoid the bustling crowds and make the move to shopping from the convenience of their home, sellers have found themselves in a competition to find the next big thing. The video generation likes to see motion!
Look around the internet. You will see more and more sites including a video option somewhere as part of their online presence. Why do you suppose YouTube has become so incredibly HUGE? This definitely isn't your Grandmother's advertising medium. One can only imagine what we'll see in the years (or months) to come.
In a very interesting approach, at least one online seller has added video to their sales pitch. Shopflick.com is A New Way to Shop Online Videos of New Merchandise From Top Designers and Boutiques. A visit to Shopflick will present you with what, at first, looks like your standard product page. But wait! Just go ahead and click on the product photos! Clicking on a photo brings up a short video with a detailed description of the item. Very cool. It sort of reminds me of a less scripted QVC approach without people calling in to say that they just bought thirty "widgets" to give every person they know this Christmas. Check it out!
