Louis Vuitton bags are one of the designer brands that some people just love to collect. I had a friend at one time who was extremely into the LV habit. She absolutely refused to carry anything "less" than an original Louis Vuitton. To be honest, I thought she came across as a little snobby, but to each her own.
This is an old designer name. It all started with luggage designed by Louis himself back in the 1800s. Louis Vuitton lived from 1821 - 1892. The luggage was very well liked and the company was founded in 1854. The flat, stackable trunks were a big deal in a time when trunks had been rounded on the top and hence, unstackable. The idea caught on.

This is the big Grand Daddy of the luxury products. The Louis Vuitton name is extremely well respected the world over and great care is taken by the company to ensure that only the highest quality merchandise bears the Louis Vuitton mark.
Unfortunately, this brand is also massively counterfeited, so when purchasing it you must be very diligent in your questioning and look for specific characteristics that you know should be present on every bag.
