Vintage Designer Handbags

One of the things I love to do in the Summer is head out to estate sales and yard sales. I find great deals on all kinds of things. One of my favorite finds at these places (especially estate sales) is vintage designer handbags. The best part is, most of the time, the people doing the selling scarcely pay attention to what type of purses they are selling. I have found Chanel bags being sold at the same low prices as the purses that were probably picked up at a local department store on a whim! I understand that the idea behind these sales is to get everything sold, but I'm still amazed at the deals I find on very gently used designer items sometimes. I would guess that many of the vintage designer handbags found on eBay probably came from one of these estate sales. I say that because I've noticed more and more ladies (and men) heading directly for the piles of handbags at these sales recently.

Not everyone likes to follow trends in fashion. In fact, there is a rather large minority out there that will buck trends at every turn just because that's what they do! When it comes to purses and handbags, they won't be looking to buy what everybody else already owns. They want unique purses that show the world that maybe they are just a little bit "different."
Some people do this by making their own purses or buying handmade purses. Other people like things like personalized tote bags that say something about them. Still others choose to show off their individuality by carrying vintage purses and handbags. It is a great example of taking something old and making it new again. If you are lucky, you may have an older relative who will just pass along some of these older treasures. You could also take the time to make the rounds of estate sales, but if you just want to find some great older purses in a hurry, this is a great place to start!
